Accommodation:
Villa.
For the first week we had a villa at Lakeside Estates. It was excellent having a pool all to ourselves as well as a large home. We were all very disappointed to leave it.
Ramada, St. Pete's (now closed.)
Nice motel 15 min from beach, close to all amenities.
Best Western, Clearwater Central. (now Travelodge)
The best hotel in the world, for me anyway. Located on US 19 we have been back every year since. Hot Spa, great pool and security patrolled. 15 min from beach. Shops nearby include Target, Best Buy and the Dollar Tree. Great Buffet Buddy Freddy also close by. A Scouser lady works there as well.
Travelodge Motel, Kissimmee (Formerly Broadway now closed.).
Located at the further end of Highway 192 its ideal if you want to be away from all the hustle and bustle, but close enough to everything you need. Still only a 20 min drive to Disney. Kmart (Like Asda) is only a minute away.
Holiday Comments:
We took my mum and dad on this one. It was the furthest they had ever gone. We warned my mum about the heat and she decided not to heed the warnings, the plane arrived at night because of a delay and once we had cleared customs she walked outside and promptly had an asthma attack. Airtours also lost my parents luggage and they did not return it for 5 days, which put a lot of pressure on the holiday.
Family Rating:
No complaints other than my parents lost luggage. It was great to have my parents along so that we could enjoy them enjoying everything for the first time.
